What single origin tells you

Single origin identifies a source at a stated level, which may be a country, region, cooperative, or farm. It does not automatically mean a single farm or a single variety. More specific information should be read where supplied for the individual coffee.

Ten places to begin

Origin Cozy Notes coffee How to explore it
Colombia The Composer Compare its fruit and caramel notes with Brazil
Brazil The Samba Start with its chocolate and hazelnut direction
Bali, Indonesia The Island Try its medium-dark profile as filter coffee
Tanzania The Serengeti Notice citrus zest, dark berry, and body
Papua New Guinea The Rainforest Explore chocolate, tropical fruit, and herbal notes
Sumatra, Indonesia The Mandheling Compare its deeper profile with Bali
Ethiopia The Bloom Read the natural-process and roast information
Costa Rica The Pura Vida Use the current listing for lot details
Guatemala The Highlands Compare with another medium-roast offering
Peru The Andean Keep it distinct from The Quiet Andean decaf

Choose a manageable comparison

Two cupping bowls beside a coffee scale and tasting notebook for comparing single-origin coffees.

Start with two coffees, not ten cups at once. A familiar profile alongside a less familiar one makes the exercise easier. Keep the dose, water, brewer, and serving temperature comparable, then write what you notice before reading the label notes.

Read the limits of the information

A country is not a flavor guarantee. A listed region does not establish farm ownership or direct trade. Processing information is useful when supplied, but should not be invented from common regional practices. Tasting notes describe sensory associations rather than added ingredients in plain coffee.

Keep your own map

Record the product name, roast, recipe, and whether you preferred it black or with milk. Those details become a more reliable shopping guide than ranking countries from best to worst. Revisit the current product page when ordering because offerings and availability can change.
